Sustainable Design

Please Recycle

Please make an effort to re-use or recycle the cards. In North America, 40 to 50% of paper products still end up in landfill sites that contribute greenhouse gases to global warming, and also have numerous other environmental impacts including groundwater contamination, natural habitat loss, and odor.

Paper is a valuable raw material that should be re-used to make other paper products where these fibers are used in a sustainable way.

Dealing with global warming will cost trillions of dollars... doing nothing will cost 5 to 20 times more!

(Stern Report on the Economics of Climate Change)

Some of the expected impacts of global warming are: flooding in coastal areas as the sea levels rises, increased severity of storms, droughts and heat waves, extinction and migration of many species, reduced agricultural production, and more rapid spread of diseases such as malaria. Over the past century, the average global temperature rose by 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit. At 380 ppm CO2, atmospheric levels are now as high as in the last 420,000 yrs. Burning fossil fuels is believed to be responsible for much of this.
